Meeting’s tarnished reputation

Media changing landscape is not the result of a fad

Gin, Television, and Social Surplus - Here Comes Everybody

Here’s something four-year-olds know: A screen that ships without a mouse ships broken. Here’s something four-year-olds know: Media that’s targeted at you but doesn’t include you may not be worth sitting still for. Those are things that make me believe that this is a one-way change. Because four year olds, the people who are soaking most deeply in the current environment, who won’t have to go through the trauma that I have to go through of trying to unlearn a childhood spent watching Gilligan’s Island, they just assume that media includes consuming, producing and sharing.

Secrecy is good. Particularly if you are a banker

Bank bail-outs to be kept secret | This is Money

And what, may I humbly ask, is so special about banks that they are to benefit from this immense generosity. They neither feed us nor water us: they neither clothe us nor house us: they neither educate us nor entertain us: they neither keep us in health nor cure us when we are ill. They are totally parasitic and should be left to die a natural death. They are the authors of their own misfortune and do not deserve our sympathy. The Government is doing the country a disservice by pandering to them.
